I grew up on Dodgers, Lakers, Chargers.

You know the behavior. Heckling the other team. Wearing the colors. Real hostility toward strangers whose only offense was a different logo.

Sometimes it goes past heckling. People have fought in parking lots over this. Occasionally worse. Over a sport.

None of those people would say they were defending an ideology. But that's exactly what it was. They weren't watching the game as a whole thing, with two halves that require each other for the game to exist at all. They were defending a pole.

That's ego doing what ego does. Ego needs one side to win. Anything that challenges the chosen side registers as a threat, and the body responds accordingly.

Look at what that costs. Elevated heart rate. Cortisol. Genuine anger at a person you've never met. All produced by a jersey.

Now scale it up and look at what people do with the same mechanism over politics, religion, nationality.

Same machinery. Bigger stakes.

Every spiritual tradition eventually tells you duality is an illusion, and every mind that hears it puts up the same fight.

Of course there's duality. Every up has a down. Every left has a right. Every liberal has a conservative. Look around.

And the mind is right about that. That's the part people get wrong when they try to argue it away.

The error isn't in noticing two poles. The error is believing those are the only two things that exist.

Watch what happens to any monolith when you press on it.

Democrats and Republicans. Except plenty of liberals are fiscally conservative, and plenty of conservatives are socially liberal. Some of the most religiously flexible people I know vote red. Some of the most rigid people I know vote blue.

Shia and Sunni. Catholic and Protestant. Judaism and Islam.

Push on any of them and the solid block turns into a spectrum with people scattered all across it.

No one is one thing. Partly because nobody can define what the one thing actually is.

What the mind is doing is reduction. Complexity is expensive. So it compresses an enormous, contradictory, moving population down into a symbol it can rally around or defend against.

That compression is where duality gets born. Not in reality. In the shortcut.

Reality is a spectrum.

One person's black and white is another person's dark charcoal and off-white.

Language is what does the damage. It reduces a complicated description down to a simple form, and the nuance falls out on the floor. Then we argue about the simple forms as if they were the thing.

And once you can see it's a spectrum, you notice something stranger. You can move the poles.

Put your black point and your white point at opposite ends. Now rotate them thirty degrees. Now ninety. The spectrum didn't change. Only where you decided to stake the two flags.

The goalposts were always movable. That's why the argument never resolves.

Us versus them. Cowboys and Indians. Good versus evil. Every one of those is a pair of flags somebody staked, being defended by people who forgot they were staked.

Here's the actual law underneath it.

Energy has two modes. Peak and trough. Two points on opposite ends of a wave, perfectly counterbalancing each other.

That's real. That's Polarity. It's not a lie the mystics are trying to talk you out of.

The problem starts when your identity collapses onto one of them.

When that happens you've chosen a pole instead of seeing the wave. And from inside a pole, the other pole doesn't look like the other half of the same thing. It looks like the enemy.

That is the parking lot from the top of this issue. The jersey was a staked flag, and the body defended it like territory.

This runs all the way down to the nerve.

Nerves want to be expressed. That's their resting state. Stress collapses them.

Expressed and collapsed. Two poles.

And the collapse isn't binary, which is the point. Nerves go expressed, then dim, then off. And at every one of those stages there are two poles again. Spectrum inside spectrum, all the way down.

Even the vritti, the surface of the stress response we mapped last issue, has two poles on it.

So when you hold a rigid opinion about which of two things you are, understand what you're actually reporting. You're not reporting a truth about reality. You're reporting which end of a collapsed nerve you've identified with.

Practice

Journaling. Get it on paper, because the mind will cheat this one if you only think it.

Write down the things you believe. Then write their opposites.

Now do the part that breaks it. Write down where you take on traits of the opposite.

You'll find them. Some liberals are fiscally conservative. Some conservatives are socially liberal. Some women carry hard masculine traits. Some men carry deep feminine ones. Some Black people love metal. Some white people love rap.

Then go after the "I am" statements specifically. Those are the load-bearing ones.

I am confident. Are you? Always? Or is there a range, and does the range depend on the room?

I am superior. I am inferior. Most people carry both, on different days, about different things.

Everything is a gradient. Even the gradient has different words for its different parts.

The practice is not to conclude you're the opposite of what you thought. It's to watch the two-box model fail in your own handwriting.

One more thing before we go, because it sets up the next two issues.

The mind of God, source, the unified field, whatever you want to call it, is one continuous field of energy, scaling from subtle to gross.

At every scale, fields of a certain frequency attract other fields of that frequency.

That's the Law of Attraction. Not a manifestation trick. A property of the field at every level of magnification.

All Is One, into Vibration, into Polarity, into Correspondence, into Attraction.

One machine. We're just walking around it.

Somebody staked those two flags a long time ago.

It was not you, and it was never reality.

The Little Book of Reprogramming SOURCE maps 108 patterns to the 108 nerve addresses where they live in the body. Two pages a day. One pattern at a time. Root to crown.

If the journaling turned up an "I am" you can't put down, that's an address. The book is how you find it.

Season Two: Mechanics of Being.
One law. One mechanism. One practice.

We are all looking at one framework of experience. Reduce it down to that, and you can extrapolate out and see clearly.

If this landed, forward it to someone it is meant to find.
